Meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan
On 4 September, Belarusian State Medical University hosted an official meeting with a delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus. The visit of the distinguished guests marked an important step towards strengthening bilateral cooperation in medical education and science.
The Uzbek delegation included Nuriddin Yokubjonovich Mamajonov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Belarus; Alisher Mamajonovich Babaev, Counsellor of the Embassy; and Aziz Shukhratovich Rakhimov, Assistant to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
BSMU was represented by Sergey Rubnikovich, Rector of Belarusian State Medical University, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, and Dmitry Chuikov, Vice-Rector for International Relations.
During the meeting, Sergey Rubnikovich gave a comprehensive presentation on the University's structure, its educational and scientific potential, and its key areas of activity. He emphasized that Belarusian State Medical University is rightfully regarded as the country's leading medical university and plays a key role in training highly qualified healthcare professionals.
The discussions focused on the prospects for further developing cooperation between BSMU and medical universities in Uzbekistan. The parties considered the launch of joint educational programmes, the implementation of joint scientific research projects, and the preparation of scientific publications in such priority fields as pharmacy, transplantology, and cardiac surgery. They also discussed opportunities for internships and academic mobility programmes for students and academic staff.
The parties expressed their mutual interest in further strengthening their partnership and noted the high level of trust that has developed between the medical communities of the two countries.

The visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan marked another important step in expanding BSMU's international cooperation. The University is confident that the agreements reached during the meeting will give new impetus to mutually beneficial partnership and open up new opportunities for science, education, and healthcare practice.
