Therapy

СStaff members of the University therapeutic departments perform a wide range of medical and diagnostic manipulations: echocardiography, treadmill test, bicycle ergometry, stress echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, ultrasonography of the abdomen and kidneys, thyroid ultrasonography, therapeutic and diagnostic arthrocentesis; therapeutic and diagnostic sternal punctures; abdominal punctures, pleural punctures, coronary stenting; carotid, visceral, peripheral angiography; endocardial electrocardiography, punctures of peripheral arteries and central veins, catheterization of the right heart chambers and pulmonary artery system.

Surgery

Surgical departments perform an extensive scope of surgical procedures on the organs of the abdominal and thoracic cavities, apply a combined method of treatment for liver failure, employ minimally invasive surgery: laparoscopic treatment of diseases of the gallbladder and serous liver cysts, endoscopic interventions on major duodenal papilla. Modern medical techniques are applied to diagnose various diseases of the liver, biliary tract, pancreas and spleen diseases: MRI, CT, ultrasonography, selective angiography, radio-opaque examination of extra- and intrahepatic bile ducts, radionuclide studies, puncture methods of studies under ultrasonography and laparoscopy control.

Pediatric surgery

Staff members of the Department of Pediatric Surgery perform an impressive range of surgical interventions for congenital and acquired surgical pathology of soft tissues, organs of the thoracic and abdominal cavities in children as well as surgical correction of congenital malformations of the digestive tract, respiratory and urinary systems in newborns. A considerable progress has been achieved in the surgical treatment of esophageal atresia, diaphragmatic hernia, congenital intestinal obstruction, congenital lung diseases, necrotizing enterocolitis. Laparoscopic procedures for appendicitis, appendicular peritonitis, perforated gastric ulcer, adhesive intestinal obstruction, gynecologic pathology, thoracoscopic lung surgery and congenital diaphragmatic hernia are widely used.

Traumatology and orthopedics

Professionals of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics skillfully use the methods of endoprosthetic hip and knee joints as well as hand joints replacement, arthroscopic diagnosis and minimally invasive surgery of diseases and injuries of joints, complex operative treatment techniques for congenital children's pathology, injuries and diseases of the hand, severe injuries of the musculoskeletal system. They participate in the development and implementation of new methods of treatment of children and young patients with injuries and diseases of the knee joint.
