Future pharmacists at the international student festival "GxP-Fest 2024"

On April 19, Moscow hosted the final stage of the fourth International Student Festival "GxP-Fest 2024", organized by the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Eurasian Economic Commission. Students of our university took part in two directions of the "GxP-Fest" at once – "GxP – proper pharmaceutical practices" and the student project hackathon "Digital Pharma of the Future".

162 teams from 98 universities of Russia, the EAEU and friendly states participated in the qualifying stage of the "GxP-Fest 2024" in the direction of "GxP – proper pharmaceutical practices", which was held online on March 14 in the form of a "GxP Battle". The participants were asked to complete 30 test tasks and solve two situational tasks. According to the results of the points scored, 60 teams reached the final, among which were two teams from the pharmaceutical faculty of the leading medical university of the Republic of Belarus.

The ProFarm team was represented by Alexander Fisyuk, team captain (5th year), Veronika Voravko (4th year), Elena Malashkova (5th year), Marina Ilyutchik (5th year), team leader – Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor Natalia Golyak.

Yanina Rakova (team captain, 4th year), Alexander Rzheutsky (4th year), Vitaly Tsvirko (4th year) and Vladislav Pavlovich (4th year), team leader - Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Candidate of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Associate Professor Raman Lukashou.

More than 30 teams participated in the qualifying stage of the student project hackathon "Digital Pharma of the Future", in the final a project was presented on the topic "Developing a neural network in Java and using it to determine the method of chemical destruction of pharmaceutical waste", the authors of which were 5th year students Ivan Mamchits, Daniil Malyavko, Anton Pyshinsky and Vyacheslav Statkevich.

The final program of the GxP-Fest included an open dialogue with representatives of the Russian pharmaceutical business and the regulator, where participants had a unique opportunity to ask questions and get comprehensive answers. During the GxP-Fest, the Academius quest was organized, during which participants were able to get acquainted with guys from other teams, communicate with representatives of the pharmaceutical industry, and get acquainted with leading enterprises of the Russian pharmaceutical industry. In addition, the largest pharmaceutical companies in Russia organized master classes, which highlighted the issues of the work of enterprises, employment prospects and internships for students, as well as analyzed cases from the work of companies, conducted quizzes for students. A tour of the center of Moscow was organized for all participants of the Academius quest.

Natalia Stepanovna Golyak took part in the master class on the use of simulation technologies of the VR plant, she shared her experience of using this simulation equipment at the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology of the Belarusian State Medical University. The report aroused interest, a lot of questions and discussion of this innovative technology in the educational process. In addition, Natalia Golyak, together with Russian colleagues from the Eurasian Academy of Good Practices, prepared two international-level teaching aids – a workshop on the VR plant and methodological recommendations for teachers who do not have experience working at a pharmaceutical enterprise.

The teams of the pharmaceutical faculty of our Alma Mater, as always, turned out to be on top of the results of the final of the "GxP-Fest 2024". The Sabbath team became the bronze medalist of the fest, the ProFarm team took the honorable second place. Additionally, the ProFarm team was awarded a 3rd degree diploma in the "Best Student Question" competition.
