The clinical bases of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases of the Belarusian State Medical University are three health care institutions in Minsk:
- 6th city clinical hospital (main clinical base),
- 5th city clinical hospital,
- 11th City Clinical Hospital
At the main clinical base, the department carries out treatment and diagnostic work in therapeutic departments (pulmonology department, cardiology department, gastroenterology department) and in the intensive care and resuscitation department.
The employees of the department carry out medical consultative and diagnostic work, work as curators of departments, consult patients with a therapeutic profile, take part in consultations about the most difficult and difficult diagnosis and treatment of patients.
There are patients of various profiles (therapeutic, traumatological, surgical) with life-threatening complications, severe disease, severe combined pathology are treated in the intensive care and resuscitation department.
Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor E.A. Dotsenko and other employees of the department take part in weekly clinical rounds in the intensive care and resuscitation department, participate in councils and joint consultations.
Associate professors of the department carry out daily examination of the patients of the department, conduct clinical rounds, they are directly involved in drawing up plans and determining the tactics of treating patients.
If necessary, the team of the department conducts consultations on the directions of therapy in other departments of the clinic: the admission department of therapy, trauma departments, departments of the maternity hospital.
The department takes part in the training of clinical residents of a therapeutic profile, is actively involved in the training of doctors at clinical bases and polyclinics assigned to the department (14, 19, 9 polyclinics in Minsk), organizing clinical and clinical and pathological conferences, seminars, lecturing, reviewing patient histories in order to carry out an examination of the quality of diagnosis and treatment.
The clinical base of the department in the 5th city clinical hospital of Minsk has 472 beds (intensive care, cardiology, pulmonology departments, neurological, surgical and neurosurgical departments). The team of the department is curators of the therapeutic departments, provide consultations on therapy, take part in consultations in the intensive care unit and other departments of the clinic.
All employees of the department, working on the basis of the 5th City Clinical Hospital, participate with a joint bypass with the administration of the clinic in the intensive care and anesthesiology department.
The clinical base of the department in the 11th city clinical hospital has 541 beds: departments of cardiology, urology, neurology, two departments of maxillofacial surgery, a surgical department, an ENT department, an eye department.
All employees of the department provide consultations for outpatients at 14, 19 and 9 polyclinics in Minsk in various areas of therapy, field consultations in Minsk and the republic through the City and Republican Emergency Aid Centers, as well as consultations at the Professorial Consulting Center of the Belarusian State Medical University.
In 2018, the team of the department consulted over 13 thousand patients, carried out an examination of 730 medical cards, introduced 9 new diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in healthcare practice. Medical knowledge is being actively promoted among students, patients and their relatives. In 2018, 12 lectures for doctors were read at the clinical bases of the department.
