The Department of Occupational Hygiene carries out educational, methodological, research and educational activities as part of the Faculty of Preventive medicine of BSMU.
The department teaches the following academic disciplines for the specialty 1 -79 01 03 “Preventive Medicine”:
- “Fundamentals of Administrative Law” (3 course);
- “Environmental hygiene” (3-6 course);
- “Occupational hygiene” (3-6 course);
- “Laboratory research in occupational hygiene” (6 course);
- “Laboratory research in environmental hygiene” (6 course).
At the Department of Occupational Hygiene, highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel are trained in the magistracy in the specialty 1-79 80 18 “Preventive medicine” and postgraduate studies in the specialty 14.02.01 “Hygiene”.
The Department of Occupational Hygiene conducts methodological guidance of interns in the specialties of the internship “Hygiene, Epidemiology”, “Laboratory Research”, carries out advanced training for specialists of the sanitary and epidemiological service of the Republic of Belarus, teaching staff of educational institutions of a medical profile.
The teachers of the department are the developers of educational documentation and educational standards for the medical and preventive profile, regulatory legal acts on the implementation of state sanitary supervision in the Republic of Belarus and the prevention of the adverse impact of occupational and environmental factors on the health of the population, carry out expert activities and international scientific cooperation in the field of preventive medicine.
Educational, methodological, scientific and research work at the Department of Hygiene is constantly being improved, preserving the good traditions of its founders, and allows to train students using modern pedagogical technologies, taking into account the achievements of hygienic science and the current requirements of preventive medicine.
