Research work

The 1st Department of Internal Medicine has a serious scientific tradition. A well-known Professor F.O. Gausman stood at the origins of scientific activity. At different times, the direction of scientific activity of the department changed from gastroenterology and hematology to rheumatology and pulmonology. Professors I.I. Goncharik, N.I. Artishevskaya, A.E. Makarevich made a great contribution to the scientific work of the department.

In 2017, the results were summed up on the department theme of research «Comprehensive assessment of disorders of the cardiovascular system, musculoskeletal and lung function in patients with chronic broncho-obstructive pathology», performed for a number of years.

Within the framework of this topic, 5 dissertation works were defended for the academic title of Candidate of Medical Sciences (PhD).

In 2018, a new topic for the research work of the department was approved «Study of the clinical and functional state of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchial asthma and occupational lung diseases» (state registration number 20180463 dated 25/04/2018). Within the framework of this topic, assistant A.Y. Krumkacheva is carrying out a dissertation work.

In 2020-2021, the department works on the following research topics:

Topic 1. «Clinical application and evaluation of the effectiveness of a method for treating patients with severe community-acquired pneumonia complicated by acute respiratory syndrome using a biomedical cell product based on pooled allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells.»

Topic 2. «Study of the dynamics of the state of humoral and cellular immunity in patients after community-acquired pneumonia caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, in order to predict the duration of immune protection.»

Other scientific directions of the department are actively developing, in particular - gastroenterology (chronic diffuse liver diseases, associate professor T.G. Raevneva).
