Belarusian, Russian and Georgian specialists discussed current issues of plastic surgery in Minsk

According to the Order of the Health Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, on the 19^th of April, there had been held a city conference with international participation “Current Issues in Plastic Surgery”, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Department of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery of the 4th Hospital in Minsk, which took place at plastic surgery department of the healthcare institution "4th City Clinical Hospital named after N. E. Savchenko". The conference was organized by the Department of General Surgery of the Medical Faculty of Belarusian State Medical University together with the Department of Plastic Surgery and Combustiology of the Institute of Advanced Training and Retraining of Healthcare Personnel. The scientific and practical program reflected the most important aspects of modern plastic and reconstructive surgery.

The conference was attended by a plastic surgeon from the network of plastic surgery clinics “Lancet” (Russia), Candidate of Medical Sciences Anton Lesnyakov with reports: “Reduction mammoplasty. My approach to preoperative marking" and "The theory of light and shadow in practice in plastic surgery", in which he shared his experience in breast surgery.

The event was also attended by a plastic surgeon, oncomammologist, Candidate of Medical Sciences Vardan Arshvkyan (Moscow), who presented the reports: “The author’s system for planning of augmentation mammoplasty Natural Btauty” and “Surgery to narrow the waist using Dr. Kudzaev’s method,” in which attention was paid to new trends in plastic surgery.

Assistant of the Department of General Surgery of Belarusian State Medical University, plastic surgeon of the Department of Plastic Surgery of the 4th City Clinical Hospital named after N. E. Savchenko Ulyana Shitikova performed reduction mammoplasty in the format of live surgery on a patient with gigantomastia, which was broadcast online in the conference room, and those present had the ability to ask the operator questions directly during the operation.

E. Savchenko of Minsk, Associate Professor of the Department of General Surgery of Belarusian State Medical University, Chief Freelance Plastic Surgeon of Health Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Candidate of Medical Sciences Sergei Kalinin, plastic surgeon of the department of plastic and aesthetic surgery of the healthcare institution "4th City Clinical Hospital named after N. E. Savchenko", assistant of the Department of General Surgery, Candidate of Medical Sciences Dmitry Varikash and many specialists of Belarusian State Medical University, clinical departments of healthcare institutions in Minsk.

Reconstructive surgeries for breast cancer, plastic surgeries after bariatric surgery, simultaneous plastic surgeries, aesthetic breast surgeries, facial rejuvenation surgeries, treatment of complications in plastic surgery, reconstructive surgeries in combustiology in adults and children, and other thematic aspects have been reviewed. Plastic surgeon Mikhail Kudin performed a live surgery operation for simultaneous breast lift and endoprosthetics.

The conference was attended by more than 180 plastic and reconstructive surgeons not only from Minsk and all regional cities of Belarus, but also guests from Moscow, Gelendzhik, Kaspiysk, Grozny, and Tbilisi.

On the 20th of April, in order to strengthen international relations, an excursion was organized for guests from the Russian Federation and Georgia with a visit to the Mir Castle and other attractions of Belarus.
