The world through the eyes of the young

On April 18, foreign students of Belarusian State Medical University from India, Sri Lanka, Iran, Turkey, Canada, Azerbaijan, Moldova, and the Russian Federation took part in the VII International Student Scientific and Practical Conference “The World through the Eyes of the Young. Student Readings", organized by Kursk State Medical University, Belarusian State Medical University, Grodno State Medical University, Gomel State Medical University, Kursk State Agrarian University named after I. I. Ivanov, Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in Sri Lanka, Kursk Regional Branch of the Russian Union young scientists.

The vice-rector for scientific work and innovative development of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Kursk State Medical University" of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Vyacheslav Lipatov addressed the students with a welcoming speech. On behalf of the rector of the educational institution "Belarusian State Medical University", corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sergei Rubnikovich, the vice-rector for educational work, colonel of the reserve medical service Denis Chernov made a speech. They wished the participants success and creative discoveries, and expressed hope for the development of cooperation between educational institutions of different countries.

Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Tatyana Melnikova, head of the department of Belarusian and Russian languages ​​at Belarusian State Medical University, addressed the students with parting words. She expressed confidence that participation in student readings will be an important step for students, will help them broaden their horizons, exchange experiences and knowledge, make new acquaintances and friendly connections.

Participation in the conference has become a good tradition for BSMU: for the seventh time our foreign students speak at the International Student Readings. Under the guidance of lecturers from the Department of Belarusian and Russian Languages, students of the Faculty of Medicine for Foreign Students prepared 19 reports:

The participants' presentations were devoted to various aspects of learning and teaching foreign languages, higher medical education, as well as problems of intercultural interaction. Since this year has been declared the Year of the Family in Russia, a new direction related to issues of family values ​​and traditions was also included in the conference program. All participants demonstrated a deep interest in scientific work and a high level of presentation of research results.

We highly appreciate the significance of the International Student Scientific and Practical Conference “The World through the Eyes of Young People” as a dialogue platform for fruitful interaction, exchange of scientific research results, and search for creative ideas. We hope to continue international cooperation with higher education institutions in different countries.
