On the 21st and 22nd of November, Professor of the Department of Hygiene and Children's Health with a course of advanced training and retraining of Belarusian State Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Elena Guzik took part in the 2nd All-Russian Scientific Congress with international participation “Erisman Readings - 2024. New in nutrition and food hygiene to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population", which was organized by the Federal Budgetary Institution of Science "Federal Scientific Center for Hygiene named after F. F. Erisman" of the Federal Service for Surveillance in the Sphere of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare" in Moscow.

The busy program of the forum included consideration of modern challenges facing nutritionology and food hygiene. During the congress, there were discussed the issues of food safety as a key factor in ensuring the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population, current aspects of hygienic regulation and control of food safety, nutrition of individual groups of the population and organized groups, implementation of the national project "Demography" and promotion of the ideas of a healthy lifestyle and healthy nutrition, new requirements and innovative technologies in the production of specialized food products.

Professor of the Department of Hygiene and Children's Health with a course of advanced training and retraining at the Belarusian State Medical University actively participated in the plenary sessions of the congress, discussing current issues of food hygiene, including nutrition of children in organized groups. Based on the results of the research carried out at the department in 2019–2024, Elena Guzik made the report “Improvement of the approaches to organization of nutrition for pupils in the Republic of Belarus” as part of the round table (held in a hybrid format) “Harmonization of national systems for organizing of pupils’s nutrition in the CIS member states. The experience of Russia and the Commonwealth countries in interdepartmental and regional cooperation in organizing nutrition in educational organizations".

During the meetings with representatives of the Federal Scientific Center for Hygiene named after F. F. Erisman, there were discussed the issues of scientific and educational cooperation, interaction of the Department of Hygiene and Children's Health with the advanced training and retraining course of Belarusian State Medical University with educational and healthcare institutions of the Russian Federation, participation in joint events, including in an online format.

As Elena Guzik notes, the information received will improve the training of medical personnel and improve the learning process at advanced training and retraining courses. Information openness of the market of medical and educational services of Belarus has been created, contributing to the creation of a favorable image and psychological trust in Belarusian healthcare, and the implementation of opportunities for carrying out projects with Russian colleagues.
