Since 1946 the Student Scientific Society has been functioning at the University. From the very beginning of its activity several study groups were formed at different chairs. There our students work under the guidance of experienced lecturers developing their skills of creative thinking and approach to solving practical problems of medicine. Many famous scientists, doctors and health care providers started their scientific activity as members of the Student Scientific Society.
Student scientific conferences and competitions of student' scientific works are held at the University every year. Nowadays we keep in touch with the Student Scientific Societies of other Higher Schools not only in Belarus but also from the Republics of the former USSR and foreign countries.
The students of the Belarussian State Medical University take part in conferences, which are held on a regular basis in Russia, Belgium, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Lithuania and etc. According to the tendencies of the development of modern science and technology, the Student Scientific Society of the Belarussian State Medical University has its own server in Internet and publishes the periodical bulletin "Vestnik of SSS".
