RULES FOR the INVITANION and ADMISSION of the FOREIGN CITIZENS TO THE BELARUSIAN STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY IN 2009/2010 years

Invitation to the studying in the Belarusian State Medical University

Foreign students who have secondary education and don’t speak Russian are invited to the Preparatory department for be prepared to be admitted to the 1^st year Medical University. A foreign citizen should submit to the Dean’s office of the Medical Faculty for foreign students the following papers:

1. application form for invitation addressed to Dean;

2. certificate of education (an original or a legally verified copy) and a list of studied subjects and received grades;

3. passport (an original or a legally verified copy);

All documents must be translated into the Russian language and be a legally verified.

Papers are admitted from September 01 to November 1.

ADMISSION TO THE PREPARATORY DEPARTMENT OF THE MEDICAL FACULTY FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS

Foreign students who have secondary education and don’t speak Russian are admitted to the Preparatory department. Here they study Russian, Biology, Chemistry, Physics; after the end of course they get a certificate which gives them right to enter the 1^st year of medical and biological faculty without examinations. The term of studies is 10 months. Within 3 days after arriving in Belarus a foreign citizen entering the Preparatory department should submit to the Dean’s office of the Medical Faculty for foreign students the following papers:

1. application form for admission addressed to Rector;
2. certificate of complete secondary education (an original or a legally verified copy) and a list of subjects studied and grades received;
3. passport and birth certificate (an original or a legally verified copy);
4. medical certificate issued by a national health care establishment of the candidate’s native country which states the absence of contraindications for studying at a medical institution under climatic conditions of Belarus;
5. certificate of a negative HIV-infection reaction issued by an official medical health care establishment of the candidate’s native country;
6. 6 (six) photographs, 4x6 cm.

All documents must be translated into the Russian language and be a legally verified.

Papers are received from September 01 to November 30.

After arriving to Belarus the foreign citizen admitted to study at the Preparatory department of the Medical Faculty for foreign students should do the following:

1. submit the passport for registration, get medical insurance at the Dean’s office;
2. sign the contract with the Belarusian State Medical University concerning the studies at the Preparatory department;
3. undergo a medical check-up at out-patient clinic N 33 of Minsk;
4. make a full payment for the whole period of studies at the Preparatory department according to the contract;
5. pay the cost of hostel accommodation for the whole period of studies at the Preparatory department.

After having fulfilled these requirements a foreign citizen is enrolled to the Preparatory department of the Belarusian State Medical University by the Rector’s order.
